UnNamed: A Journey of Resilience, Healing, and
Courage
2024

An extraordinary and inspiring independent documentary about overcoming trauma, embracing differences, and finding peace and hope

When I was 16, an armed man burst into "Bar-noar", a safe space for LGBT youth in Tel Aviv, taking two lives and injuring 11 others, including me.

Thirteen years later, in March 2020, as the world battled the COVID-19 pandemic, I was forced to confront wounds I thought were long buried. I decided to embark on a deeply personal journey to revisit that traumatic night and the truths I had hidden from my family, my community, and myself.

"UnNamed" is a raw, emotional, and hopeful story about confronting trauma, healing through art, and finding peace within.

Why Watch "UnNamed"?

UnNamed is not just a film—it’s my story.

It’s a labor of love that I poured everything into, with the help of a small but passionate team, to share something deeply personal yet universal. This independent, foreign film with English subtitles takes you on a journey of resilience, healing, and finding connection.

As an independent filmmaker, I self-funded this project because I believe stories like this matter. UnNamed isn’t backed by big studios—it’s made for people like you who value authentic, meaningful stories. By watching this film, you’re helping me and other independent creators bring these stories to the world.

Thank you for supporting independent cinema and for being part of this journey.

- Channel 13 : "A fascinating and incredibly important film."

- Channel 12, Avri Gilad: "The film gripped me tightly; I sat stunned for an hour."

– Radio 103fm, Iris Cole: "UnNamed does two heartbreaking things: revisiting unfinished business and forcing Udi to find healing with his family."

"UnNamed" is more than just a film—it’s my personal journey of resilience and healing.

When I was 16, my life changed forever in a tragic attack at "Habarnoar,"

a safe space for LGBT youth in Tel Aviv.

That night, two of my friends were killed, and I was left with both physical scars and hidden emotional wounds. For years, I tried to move on without confronting the trauma, burying it deep inside.

But in 2020, as the world faced its own crisis during the pandemic, my past came rushing back. With my camera in hand, I embarked on a deeply personal journey to finally confront the events of that night—and the secrets I had kept from my family and myself.

As a filmmaker, I wanted to turn my pain into a story that could inspire others to find hope, healing, and connection.

UnNamed is not just my story—it’s a call to embrace resilience, foster understanding, and never lose sight of hope, no matter how dark life may seem.

I invite you to join me on this journey and experience a story that is both deeply personal and universally relatable.
